What level of fitness is required?
There is no minimum fitness criteria to join the course. The course is deliberately designed to be inclusive of all fitness levels without compromising on each individual's learning experience. You will be provided a fitness improvement protocol that will help improve your current fitness so that you can enjoy the outdoor learning experience even more. If you have a specific health condition or concern like heart condition, respiratory condition etc, please contact us before enrolling.
Can someone over 50 join the course?
Yes, we've had students who are 65 years old also. The course is deliberately designed to be inclusive of all fitness levels while allowing each individual to learn and hike at their own pace. If you have a moderately active lifetime with ailments or injuries that can be managed in the wilderness, then you should be fine. However, if you have a specific health condition or concern like a heart condition, respiratory condition etc, don't hesitate to contact me to discuss your suitability before enrolling.
Can I send my child to join the course?
Yes. For student between 16 to 18, a consent letter from parent/ guardian is required before the course start date. For younger participants between 10-16, a parent or an adult guardian must accompany them. Age ranges are suggestive and flexible. Feel free to get in touch to discuss your situation and we will guide you.
Can I pay the fee in installments or book my seat with a deposit?
Full payment is required to confirm your participation. We do not offer installment plans or deposit-based seat reservations.
What are the next batch dates?
Please reach out to us for the next batch dates.
What if the batch I'm interested in is full?
Batches usually get full 2-3 months in advance giving enough time to plan leaves and book tickets. We strongly advise enrolling while seats are available. Please indicate the dates you are interested in by contacting us - if there are any cancellations, you will be informed.
What is included & exlcuded in the course fee?
Inclusions: - Training & Instruction fee - Stay at hotel/homestay - All meals during the course - Course-issued equipment Exclusions: - Any kind of govt fee or charges - Travel to/from Manali - Personal expenses & snacks - Anything not mentioned in Inclusions
What is the refund policy?
The course fee, or any payment towards it, is non-refundable. Refunds will not be issued for no-shows, late arrivals, or early departures. In the unlikely event that the course is canceled by the organizer, you may choose to reschedule to a future batch or receive a full refund, minus payment gateway processing charges, if any.
What is the batch change policy?
Seats are non-transferable. If a batch is cancelled by us, you’ll have the option to either shift to another batch (if available) or get a full refund. Switching batches is generally not allowed. In rare cases, if we're able to find someone to take your seat before the enrolment deadline, we may be able to help you move. All such requests are handled case-by-case, and the final decision rests with the course organizer.
What if I can no longer attend the course?
While we cannot offer refunds as per our refund policy, we will make a reasonable effort to help you recover your fee. We will reach out to interested students on the waitlist to try and find a replacement for your seat. If a replacement is found and they confirm with full payment, we will issue a refund to you. You may also propose a replacement yourself, subject to their eligibility being confirmed by us. A replacement is not guaranteed, and a refund will only be issued once the replacement is fully confirmed and paid.
What gear do I need to bring?
Common gear (tent, sleeping bag, mat, stove, and cookware) will be provided. You’ll need to bring personal clothing and your backpack. A detailed gear checklist will be shared upon confirmation, and we’ll discuss alternatives to minimize unnecessary expenses.
What is the course start/end timings?
The course begins at 9:00 AM (Sunday) on Day 1 - so you should plan your travel to reach Manali by 7:00 AM The course ends at 2:00 PM (Saturday) on Day 7. You can plan your return travel from Manali accordingly.
What are the travel options to reach course location?
You can reach Manali by: Bus (recommended) : Overnight AC buses run between Delhi & Manali daily. Costs Rs ~1500. You will be dropped at the Manali Private bus stand. Take a cab from here to the hotel/homestay. All the buses from Delhi to Manali start between 5 pm & 11 pm. There are no buses during the day. It is suggested to take a bus between 5-8 pm so that you can reach Manali on time the next morning. Alternate options: - Cab : You can either take a cab from Delhi or from Chandigarh. - Flight : Nearest airport is Bhuntar but flights could be costly. From Bhuntar you will have to take a cab/bus to Manali
