There are 62,943 books on Amazon for “hiking” or “trekking”.

Most of them are what-I-did stories

Some of them are where-to-go travel guides.

None of them are how-to-actually-hike books.

So I decided to write one myself.

THIS is the book I wish existed when I had started out my hiking journey - an ultimate practical guide on everything you need to know about hiking or trekking independently, safely & efficiently.

This book started out as my personal notes when I began hiking in 2017. The first version became study material for my field course students in 2021. I've been improving it ever since and recently launched the second version within my community in 2024.

The book is grounded in 3 simple rules:

  1. Highly Actionable

  2. In-depth & Complete

  3. Simple Language
