Most interesting was the part where he explains not to rush and take small steps with DIY journey. Manav is a wonderful presenter.👍 He covered more than anyone can humanely cover. This was fantastic. Aysee hee lage rahoo sir 😀
Suhas

Session was really great. Manav sir explained almost everything that I wanted to know for a beginner trek. My main concerns were of gear and camping overnight, but I got to learn much more than this 😃. Sir explained very well regarding use of gear and other points as well
NISHANT

The session laid a very crisp map for starting with the DIY concept. Manav also explained on the mindset aspect of DIY hiking world, which I think matters a lot.
Meera

🤩 While we often consider gear, tools, techniques, and weather, some people only think about health last. Manav explained things so clearly and precisely that I can’t even forget them. Manav sir wasn't trying to impose anything on the audience. He only shared what he knows and understands. Nothing extra nothing less.
Viplove

An interesting topic for me is trek planning, how much food I need to carry for trekking for multiple days and how much it will weigh, choosing the east facing slope during ascent and its benefits. Everything he explained was pretty clear.
SHYAM

The session was well paced and simple enough even for a novice to understand and follow along. I liked the fact that an aspect like fitness wasn't really put on a pedestal for anyone to start exploring the outdoors as Manav shared options for various groups

Manav is very articulate in his speech. It's one of the things I really appreciate about him. I did go in thinking it would be a overview of a lot of things related to independent hiking and it was exactly that. So, no complaints. Honestly, all of it was very valuable to me as a beginner.
Ravi

It was immensely helpful for an absolute beginner like me. It gave me confidence and structured approach for getting started. Importantly, I like the way it focused on upskilling, making it comfortable, inclusive, letting go of fear and myths. 🙏🏾🧡 I feel glad to have join this community and look forward to step outside.
ANURAG

Manav was very thorough pn each topic. He took time to explain everything in great detail. He conducted the whole workshop beautifully. So I'm really happy with the workshop.
ABHISHEK

Everything which has been discussed was very new and mind blowing for me the short details like choosing direction of hiking in which Manav explained blew my mind so i can say from beginners perspective it was too great session. The step by step journey of being hiker like from kindergarten to graduate was felt so true to me and understood how a hikers mindset gets evolved with experience and how we can upgrade ourself along with gears over the period of experience. Keeping the time constraint in mind it was perfect session otherwise i know that each topic worth atleast 6-8 hours explaining. I have attended the session and being a beginner level (only hiking on weekends in Maharashtra).
Arpit

For someone like me, who does treks outside of Maharashtra, it was super helpful. It was supposed to be just 1 hour, but it went for 2 hours because he explained everything so well. He talked about how to build confidence in trekking, how contour lines can help hikers find important spots like ridges, valleys, and summits, and how to improve your skills while letting go of fear and wrong beliefs. The session was so interesting that I didn't even realize how fast 2 hours flew by! I think this is the best group for learning all about DIY trekking. I'm really happy to be part of it. I can’t wait to learn more from Manav! 5 Star Rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Sharavan

I have been following Manav from a long time and also I have read his book so for me 90% of the content is repetitive but I am here for revision and most importantly new insights from Manav bhai. The Mother Nature part where he explains we are slowly forgetting the motherly aspect of nature and we are just scared of it now. Speed Hiking is not so expensive if you pick the right season , Always thought EBC would require lakhs of rupees but it doesn't really. Very important thing I learned Animals are mostly shy and if we make our presence felt the will Hide from us very early , In this way we can sure shot avoid human animal conflict. Everything is was clear and concise.
Harshita

The workshop was good. I learnt a lot being a beginner. I would like to read more on the stuff covered in the workshop.
Viraj

Topics were appropriately covered. I think the trek planning aspect could be a little elaborate, as to how to approach planning, prepare for the trails and exit plans. It was a really useful session, took notes on the things that I should consider when planning. The simple and basic approach to planning was really encouraging.
MRITTIKA

Everything was clear, concise and it was quite engaging. The flow of the session was also smooth. The summary that Manav sometimes provides at the end of each topic served as key takeaways. Since this session was mainly to provide an overview and blueprint to think and plan about hiking independently, I think all the main points were included and the introduction to each aspect of DIY hiking was on point. I went into it out of curiosity without having an expectation and it turned out to be great. The approach to gradual transition from doing a day hike to multi-day treks. It was eye-opening because it made so much sense that the same systems that you use for a 1-2 day hike can be updated to think about multi-day treks too.
VINEETHA

The whole idea of DIY trekking is new to me and I was open to learn everything that was being discussed. And I must admit that it was definitely worthwhile. What I found interesting was the five stages of growth that was discussed in the beginning. The idea of DIY trek can be overwhelming for beginners. Following the process seems like a great idea :) Also, I liked the 'Seasons' chart that was shared. It's easier to plan future treks.
VISHAL

My main intention to enroll for the session was to learn about DIY hiking and its do's and don'ts which manav explained well throughout the session..that's what kept me hooked for several hours. I have been on guided hikes but want to implement the things learned via the community soon into the outdoors. The way manav explained all the minute details and the food consumption and it's packing details were quite interesting which I did not hear anywhere else till now.
ASHISH

Hey the workshop was as usual wonderful and explanatory. Majorly I was looking for refreshing the things I learnt in the course and pick up some new techniques and tips that would be shared. I always find how you guys have paved the path starting from day hikes to gradually multi day hikes. But all in all it was so great to get knowledge on wilderness sitting at home and making us outdoor ready.😀
RAMYA

I wanted to know the basics of diy hiking which was covered very well in the session. All the parts presented were on point and very clear.
SATYAM

I was open to learn anything from such an experienced hiker like Manav. The session was crisp and on the point and it was really wonderful to learn from Manav's own and his peers' experiences/ mistakes. For me the eye opening slide was comparing a full geared day hiker to a shepherd and asking ourselves do we really need that much gear every time?
MITHUN

As a primer/blueprint, it is apt for anyone to start their journey with. Very clear and informative. I liked the way it was structured and presented too. Explained a whole bunch of topics in a structured and concise way which help break down things that were important to know and understand in the journey to becoming a DIY hiker. If they progress to the book next, it really brings it all together nicely. Honestly, its a great opportunity to learn and gather more knowledge and confidence.
TRUPTI

Honestly, i found the session incredibly valuable. It served as a great reminder of so many essential aspects of hiking, such as wilderness awareness, nutrition, packing strategies, and beginner friendly apps. The session was detailed, clear and deeply informative. Manav explain all the details in very simply way and his skills of teaching is just next level. Tge segment on emergency sos in the wilderness was particularly useful, especially with the introduction of the app. I have been planning trip to Himachal Pradesh for a while, with the intention of hiking and exploring the place from the heart. This workshop provided some great insights. Overall it was a fantastic and insightful workshop.
KRISHNA

The topics discussed were broad and covered various aspects of hiking and trekking, which was exactly what I was looking for. Manav kept the session interesting and interactive, making it easy to stay engaged. I appreciate the practical advice and tips shared, which I can apply to my future hike/trek trips. Some of the top moments I found very interesting shared by Manav are : Research your trail thoroughly (Use Apps/Maps Etc.), Know the distance, elevation changes, and difficulty level. Have a map and a GPS device or app. Talk to locals and have different plans for any DIY hikes.
BHARGAV

Session was very insightful. Since Iam still in beginner phase where Iam still figuring out the 101s of DIY trekking. This workshop have more than reached my expectations. understand the topography of the landscape is something very interesting and resourceful. Manav explained each topic very clearly. I don’t have doubts as of now.
SINDHU

The capsule was very detailed and insightful, more detailed than I expected, actually. I've always been less of a planner/ plan-as-i-hike kind. But knowledge about so many resources available is kinda overwhelming; But also, very grateful that I could learn how experienced hikers plan things.
